The Anna Police Department has expanded their Criminal Investigations Division in 2022 with the addition of a Narcotics Detective. The Narcotics Detective is charged with the suppression of illegal possession, manufacture, and distribution of controlled substances. To counter the threat of illegal narcotics‐related crime, the Narcotics Detective has developed multifaceted strategies and initiatives targeting and attacking all levels of this complex problem. The suppression of such narcotics activity is accomplished through proactive investigations utilizing intelligence gathering capabilities, surveillance, and confidential informants.

 

In addition to working with surrounding city, county, and state agencies we also work with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and The High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Program (HIDTA) Task Force. The mission includes coordinated efforts to reduce the production, manufacture, distribution, transportation, and chronic use of illegal drugs, as well as the attendant money laundering of drug proceeds.

 

The detective also conducts educational and enforcement programs in schools and public forums.
